Alain Bonardi is Professor of Computer Science and Musical Creation at Université Paris 8, based in the Music Department and a member of the Musidanse laboratory, where he co-leads the Center for Computer Science and Musical Creation. A composer and computer-music designer, he is known for bridging research and artistic practice, treating creation itself as a form of research.
Trained across engineering and musicology, his work explores open programming languages and tools for sound and musical creation, mixed music, and innovative approaches to spatial audio, collaborative real-time composition, and bio-signal instruments. He leads and contributes to major research projects that advance open, durable, and shareable software for music technology and education.
